Karen & Gareth’s Wedding

Karen & Gareth were married during a beautiful ceremony at Miramare Gardens in front of close family and friends – a few of which flew in from New Zealand.

Gareth turned up to the ceremony in a Torana and at the last minute surprised his Groomsmen with the 55 Buik.  Forgive me for not knowing the year and model Torana, I have absolutely no idea about cars…sorry Gareth.  It was very loud though.

Karen looked absolutely radiant as did her three bridesmaids Charmaine, Catherine and Melanie.  And how cute are the flower girls Mia and Winter.  Winter is Karen & Gareth’s 22 month old daughter.  The boys looked mighty fine also 😉  especially little Lachie who did a great job looking after the rings.  Gareth’s best man was his identical twin brother Damen – now didn’t that throw me off  (just a little!) – throughout the day I kept having to remind myself the Groom is the one wearing the white vest, the Groom is the one wearing the white vest.

Congratulations Karen and Gareth, I loved being part of your day and look forward to sharing the rest of the photos in a few weeks time.

The Wedding of Peter & Jessica

I first knew that Peter and Jessica were engaged when a very excited Mum (Jessica’s Mum, Kylie) approached my stall at the Hills Grammar School Fair just over 2 years ago now.  Peter had popped the question while on a romantic getaway in the Hunter Valley.  Soon after, I had a call from Jessica to book her engagement session and wedding.

The styling of Peter & Jessica’s wedding was nothing short of amazing.  From the gorgeous wedding gown that was custom made by Narelle Light using Versace lace to the elegantly styled reception at Oatlands House.   Every detail was carefully thought out, even the wedding cake was topped with a beautiful hand blown glass ornament that both Jessica & Peter chose whilst at the Rocks Market one Sunday afternoon.

After all the formalities were over, it was time to hit the dance floor with everyone enjoying themselves and having a lot of fun dressing up for the Photobooth.  Both myself and my assistant Belinda love it when there is a Photobooth at a wedding, and it’s sort of becoming tradition to sneak in there during a quiet moment.

Congratulations again Peter & Jessica, and thank you so much for choosing me to photograph your special day.  I wish you much happiness in your future together.

James and Monica’s Sydney Wedding

Well what can I say, James and Monica’s wedding last Saturday was amazing to say the least.  Everybody was having so much fun dancing the night away, I just wanted to join in.  I do love being a wedding photographer though, but sometimes I wish I was a guest – this was one of those times.

Monica and James’s love story started when they first met at TAFE four years ago.  It was love at first sight for both of them and when James popped the question just over 12 months ago, they both couldn’t wait to start planning the rest of their lives together,  starting with their dream wedding and a new home in Bossley Park.

They chose L’Aqua Cockle Bay for the ceremony that was witnessed by over 100 guests, and the reception at Dockside Darling Room also at Cockle Bay that had stunning night views of Darling Harbour. The portrait shoot was at Observatory Hill and as you will see from the photos, Sydney couldn’t of put on a more perfect sunset.

Michael & Nita’s Country Wedding

For months now I’ve been picturing myself photographing this wedding in the stunning landscapes of the Southern Highlands.  Nothing but green pastures, lushes vineyards and rolling hills that seem to go on forever and ever. Well last Saturday, all became reality and Nita and Michael were married during a beautiful ceremony at Silos Estate in the quaint country town of Berry, NSW.

Despite the overcast skies and the threat of rain, the day shined with happiness for everyone especially Nita and Michael and their five children. The ceremony was very much a family affair with Nita’s children Jacob, Gabriel and Xavier and Michael’s children Grace and Hannah all being part of the nuptials.

After the ceremony and family portraits, I whisked Nita and Michael away to the vineyards for some alone time.  We finished just before the last light and shortly afterwards Nita and Michael joined their guests at the reception where Michael played the ukulele and sang a beautiful duet with his daughter Grace.  Celebrations continued late in to the night at the Berry Hotel – by that stage I was tucked up in bed, it was a very long day.

I would also like to mention here how honoured I felt when Nita and Michael asked me to photograph their wedding day.  I first met Michael at his brother Ross’s wedding five years ago, and again at this other brother Scott’s wedding three years ago.  I jokingly said to Michael back then that I would have to complete the Boogaard brothers and when it was his turn I must be the photographer.

To Nita and Michael, I don’t think there has been a wedding where I have witnessed so much love and respect expressed for one another and family.  It was such an incredible thing to be part of – thank you.

James & Monii Pre-Wedding Shoot at Bicentennial Park

I spent a gorgeous afternoon with James and Mon on Sunday at Bicentennial Park.  Despite the weather being a little chilly and threatening rain, James and Mon snuggled up together to keep warm which made for some great shots.

These two love birds are so much in love and it was such a pleasure to be able to capture some lovely memories for them both.  And I get to do it all over again in July on their wedding day…can’t wait!

Amanda + Brad’s Stylish Sydney Wedding

Amanda and Brad were married last Friday in a beautiful ceremony at St Peter Chanel Catholic Church in Hunters Hill and celebrated their reception at the fabulous Deckhouse at Woolwich Dock.

Amanda looked absolutely stunning wearing an exquisite couture wedding dress by renowned Australian designer Steven Khalil.  The strapless dress was elegantly detailed with delicate flowers and beading with a soft overlay of organza that swept to the floor and beyond.  I have to admit I was a little envious (ok, I won’t lie – a lot envious).  Amanda’s Bridesmaid Rebecca and 5 year old Flower Girl Zarah complimented her beautifully with their gorgeous numbers not to mention Brad and his Groomsman Aaron sporting classic black Hugo Boss suits.  A very stylish bridal party that complimented the overall theme.

The Deckhouse was the perfect reception choice with it’s sophisticated features and fantastic views of Sydney Harbour.  Amanda & Brad chose a timeless neutral colour palette keeping it white and light with their decor.  Flower Couture Flower & Decor Designers created a gorgeous bridal bouquet for Amanda and arranged stunning table centrepieces to fit in with Amanda & Brad’s vision for the day.

The bridal party photos after the ceremony were taken in and around Goats Paddock and Woolwich Docks and I’m sure you will all agree how amazing the views are.

It was such a pleasure to be part of Amanda & Brad’s wedding day.  The day couldn’t have been more perfect and you can tell it meant a lot to Amanda and Brad to have such amazing family and friends there to share it with them.  Congratulations Amanda & Brad!

Please enjoy their story….

Gracie 6 months | Baby Portraits

Meet adorable Gracie, only 6 months old.

I first met Gracie’s parents Jess and Grant at a wedding I photographed last October.  Jess had not long given birth to little Gracie and was keen to have some photos taken.  We scheduled the shoot for when Gracie was 6 months old, as babies are full of personality at that age.  We had a lot of fun during the session with Gracie showing me her baby plank pose and although she had not quite mastered sitting up yet,  I’m guessing she’ll be crawling any day now.  Gracie made me work very hard for a smile preferring to keep those for her daddy only….although she did sneak one or two in just for me! 😉

Thank you so much Jess and Grant, you certainly bake beautiful babies and I hope you enjoy the sneak peak.
